Case Description
A 78-year-old female presented with severe low back pain that significantly impaired her ability to maintain an upright posture. The patient had previously undergone multiple non-surgical therapies, all of which were unsuccessful, including the placement of a spinal cord stimulator, which provided no relief.
Surgical Goals
- Achieve complete resolution of pain.
- Restore and improve standing posture.
Surgical Intervention
The patient underwent a multilevel lumbar laminectomy, L3 pedicle subtraction osteotomy, and T5-to-sacrum spinal fusion.
Outcome
Postoperatively, the patient achieved a perfectly upright standing posture with complete resolution of pain.
